Part 2

The Peree warcruiser Superflow slowly orbited the planet Taphthal. Shuttles were flying from the planet’s surface to the starcruiser. The starcruiser was the newest and largest in the Peree fleet.

Three fighters circled the starcruiser to keep any enemies away from it. The battle for the planet had been fierce until the Peree Admiral decided to commit the ‘black squadron’ to the battle. Once he did that the battle ended quickly. Now all that was left was to destroy the rements of the rebellion. The ‘black destroyers’ commander himself was leading the sweep for any remaining rebels on the planet.

Admiral Sodelli was quite proud to have the most elite squadron in the universe under his command. He looked down at the planet from his view on the bridge and wondered why the people rebelled against his people. He thought that there was no greater cause than severing a Peree, even if it was as a slave.

He turned his attention to his second in command that was giving him the updates on the warrior’s mind patterns during the battle. They did this after every battle to make sure a warrior would not turn against them.

A warrior that ‘snapped’ (as the Peree called it) would be targeted for destruction and another prisoner/slave would be trained.

“Anything unusual to report this time?” He asked his aid.

“Nothing from anyone who survived, sir!” The aide responded.

“You are dismissed then.” He said waving his hand in a dismissive gesture.

He went and sat back down in his chair. He turned and looked down the bridge to where the ‘controllers’ were. The ‘controllers’ were the ones that watched the brain scans in case one ‘snapped’ in the middle of battle. They also kept control over the warriors to ensure their loyalty.

He flipped through the report to see for himself if the report was accurate. He noticed that all of the warriors that did show slight irregularities were destroyed by the enemy during the battle.

The Peree were going to take over the universe, he thought. He was looking forward to that day, then everyone would bow to them and they would be the supreme masters. They had their warriors who were captured prisoners of defeated races. They would be reprogrammed and carefully monitored for any sign of snapping.

He looked at the time and noticed that he probably should get some sleep.

“I’ll be in my quarters sleeping in case I’m needed.” He told the officer on duty and went to his quarters.

Fulton banked his fighter into a slight dive and circled around again to check on the area that he had been told was the last area for the rebels. Fulton’s name is feared by all in the rebellion, because he is the leader of the ‘black destroyers’, the most elite fighter force in the universe. His squadron had just received the latest fighters, they were able to transform into a type of robot for ground support when needed.

He switched a lever and his fighter began to reconfigure into the robot mode that he would need to investigate the area more thoroughly. His now transformed ship landed just near one of the few intact buildings that remained. He slowly walked around allowing his sensors to pick up anything that might be unusual. He rounded a corner of one of the buildings when his sensors announced a missile threat.

The rebel was waiting for him with a missile launcher and the moment Fulton stepped into the clearing the rebel launched the missile. The rebel watched in awe as the pilot of his target in a split second twisted out of the way of the missile. The rebel did not have much time to be impressed with the feat when a laser pierced his body killing him instantly.

The rebel trap did not stand a chanced in stopping Fulton from destroying them. Five other rebels rushed out of their hiding spots only to find an unstoppable evil force in the fighter they were up against. They were all killed within a minute. Fulton did not even break a sweat during the fight.

“Destroyer leader, this is the Superflow, new target for you, Black five has snapped, acquire and destroy!”

“Acknowledged Superflow!” Fulton responded and retransformed his robot back into a fighter. A few minutes later he locked on to the snapped target.

“Don’t do this Destroyer Leader, there is a better way!” Black 5 said trying to reason with Fulton.

Fulton’s only response was a laser that destroyed black five.

Admiral Sodelli watched as the light indicating black five winked out. He sat back down in his chair and smiled. He had no qualms about destroying a pilot if they no longer produced, they could just train another pilot slave.

“Admiral, incoming message from headquarters.” An aide said to him.

Admiral Sodelli got up and walked over to the aide’s station to check out the message. After quickly reading the message he went to his ready room to get the details.

“I guess we will be leaving this planet soon.” One aide said to another one.

“Yep, I will miss this one, it was pretty to look at least.”

“I wonder where we will be headed next?”

“I try not to worry about it, at least we don’t have to do any real fighting.”

“True.”

Fulton banked his fighter after scratching black five towards space and the awaiting space cruiser Superflow. Fulton approached and noticed that the rest of his fighter group was also arriving. They had been fighting non-stop since their arrival at the planet. He knew that the usual meeting would take place and evaluations would be done, he had never failed one yet. He was the best of the best in the black destroyer squadron.

He landed his ship with the elite skill he possessed. Other less skilled pilots would have allowed the ships tractor beams to guide their ships into the hangers, but Fulton enjoyed the small thrill he got out of landing his fighter.

He jumped out of his ship and was greeted with the usual bustle of the hanger bay. He walked around his ship and took an inventory of what damage had occurred to his fighter, he knew the fighter inside and out because he had helped design the fighter. He also oversaw all repairs to his fighter, much to the dismay of the repair crews.

“Hey, you’re going to be late!” One of his wing mates yelled out to him.

“You know that I always look after my fighter first to check out the damage, I’ll be there in a bit, besides the commander knows it.” Fulton yelled back.

A few minutes later he walked into the meeting room. All of the pilots were there waiting for the commander to begin.

“Fulton, glad you could finally pull yourself away from your new fighter.” The commander said. The other pilots chuckled at this. “Ok, quiet! Let’s get this meeting over with.”

An hour later Fulton and his comrades made their way for their suspension chambers. Fulton walked down the hall lined with one-person chambers that are their homes. Fulton entered his chamber and within a minute was in suspension.

The controller of the chambers looked down at his control panel. The indicator lights told him that every pilot was in suspension until the next battle. Suspension was an easy way for the Peree to control the military slave population. While in suspension the slaves were told whom they belonged to and what their missions were.

The large warcruiser Superflow entered light speed and went toward the next planet to conquer.
